Early Childhood Education

Overview:

Early Childhood Education prepares students for careers working with young children ages birth to 5.  During their 11th grade year, students experience an overview of basic child development, child abuse and neglect, nutrition, brain development, and regulatory requirements for working in a preschool setting.  Students will receive CPR and First Aid training for  young children.  During their 12th grade year, students will focus on professionalism and experience working with young children in child care centers or preschools.  Students will have the opportunity to visit these businesses to observe, interact, and participate in conducting lessons the have developed.
