Engrade, Our Online GradeBook

Parent and Students,

Did you know that all Wayne County schools are on Engrade?

It’s an online gradebook and communication tool that can be accessed 24/7.

With Engrade both parents and students can:

  • Check current grades
  • Message Teachers
  • Check past grades from previous school year if they were entered in Engrade

Teachers optionally can also do the following:

  • Post Lesson Plans
  • Take Attendance
  • Create assignments dropboxes to digitally submit student work
  • Make tests and quizzes taken on Engrade
  • Have open discussions (forums)
  • Make a seating chart

Tablets distributed to Freshmen & Sophomore students

Spring Valley is very happy to announce that we will be rolling out a 1:1 student to computer ratio beginning this school year. Every Freshmen and Sophomore student will receive a Windows 8 tablet purchased by Wayne County Schools.  Every future freshmen class will also receive a tablet.

The tablets will be utilized primarily for Math 9 and Math 10 courses. However students may use them in other classes at teacher discretion. The curriculum and all support materials for the math courses can be downloaded to the devices so students will not need an Internet connection to work at home. However the tablet can be used on the internet at home with full filtering in place.

Student meals are free this year!

Edit: Please note that after this article was published before Wayne County Schools announced that all students will eat school meals for free beginning next school year! However, you can still sign up to look at past account activity and take care of any existing balances.

Wayne County Schools has announced that secure online payments via ParentOnline will be taken for cafeteria bills.

JROTC Newsletter Jan/Feb

JANUARY

On 6 JAN 14 five cadets of our rifle team participated in the CMP
National Air Rifle Competition.

FEBRUARY

On7 FEB 14 eleven cadets helped move tables at school for the county social studies fair
On 8 FEB 14 thirty drill team cadets participated in the drill meet that
took place at Wayne High School where the drill team took home first
place overall
On 21 FEB 14 eight of our cadets conducted a locker movement at the main school
On25 FEB 14 five of our cadets helped out with the parent teacher
conference at the Votech by holding doors and showing the parents
which rooms the teachers were in, while earlier this day our seniors
participated in the CTE Job Fair day at the Civic Center
