Hello Parents and Students,
If your student is in the 9-11 grade at Spring Valley, she or he has recently taken the online Accucess Benchmark in Reading, Math, and Language Arts. Upon completion of this test, your student receives a grade level equivalency score. For example if your child scored a 902 in Reading that would translate into a beginning 9th grade level, a 1150 in Math would be a mid 11th grade level, a 1095 would be an upper 10th grade level. The possible range of scores for most of these tests is 100 (beginning 1st grade) to 1299 (high 12th grade).
More importantly your student also receives a “prescription” of lessons working on skills they missed on the Accucess test. For example, Continue reading Important Information Regarding your Student’s Accucess Benchmark Results

First year Spring Valley Math teacher Jessica Willis wanted to start the year off with a memorable project that would grab her students’ attention while getting them to learn graphing linear equation content. She took a hands-on approach with a unique twist: the students would properly graph themselves onto a giant coordinate plane – taking the place of traditional graph paper – which comprised most of her classroom floor. The tablets will be utilized primarily for Math 9 and Math 10 courses. However students may use them in other classes at teacher discretion.
