JROTC takes 2nd place at Lincoln County Drill Meet

The JROTC Drill Team competed in the Lincoln County Drill meet this past weekend and earned 2nd Place Overall! This included 1st Place in Armed Inspection, Armed Exhibition, and Unarmed Exhibition; 2nd place in LET 1 Color Guard and Armed Squad; 3rd Place in Armed Platoon, Unarmed Platoon, and Advanced Color Guard. Individual honors in knockout go to LouRae Pierce for 1st Place as well as Justin McCloud, Noah Bias, Daniel May, Jacob Caldwell and Justin Haywood for placing in the top ten.

JROTC takes honors at HHS competition

CONGRATULATIONS to the SV JROTC Drill Team for placing 2nd overall at the Huntington HS Drill Meet this past Sunday. The Team received 2nd place in LET 1 Color Guard and Senior Color Guard as well as 3rd in Squad Armed Drill. The Drill Team also had 9 cadets place in the top 20 out of 150 cadets in the Armed Knockout Competition, the were: Tori Napier (1st), Katie Ward (3rd), Justing Haywood (7th), Daniel May (10th), Jacob Caldwell (11th), LouRae Pierce (14th), Scottie McCloud (17th), Carlie McCoy (18th), and Ashley Ross (19th).

JANUARY

On 6 JAN 14 five cadets of our rifle team participated in the CMP
National Air Rifle Competition.

FEBRUARY

On7 FEB 14 eleven cadets helped move tables at school for the county social studies fair
On 8 FEB 14 thirty drill team cadets participated in the drill meet that
took place at Wayne High School where the drill team took home first
place overall
On 21 FEB 14 eight of our cadets conducted a locker movement at the main school
On25 FEB 14 five of our cadets helped out with the parent teacher
conference at the Votech by holding doors and showing the parents
which rooms the teachers were in, while earlier this day our seniors
participated in the CTE Job Fair day at the Civic Center
