Social Workers

Our social workers proactively assist students by providing a variety of services to ensure student success in school and post-graduation. These services include:

  • Phone contact
  • Home visit
  • Brief in-house mental health assessments
  • Referrals to outside programs/assistance
  • Groups on anxiety, depression, coping skills
  • Safe space for crisis/decompression
  • Hygiene needs/supplies

Mental Health Counselor

There is one fact—there is clear evidence linking mental health with educational achievement. Social/emotional health problems can create significant barriers to academic success. When academics can be at the top of a student’s list of priorities, students have a greater opportunity to reach their potential. Our focus is to allow students to make academics their top priority while maintaining their social/emotional health and limiting barriers to achieving success.

Graduation Coach

The county graduation specialist works with students in danger of not graduating on time based on academic, behavioral and attendance standards.   The graduation specialist acts as part counselor, part academic coach, and part life coach to help students master the learning process and successfully cope with the challenges of completing high school.
