Global Logistics Students Design Modern Warehouses

Global Logistics students were tasked with designing modern warehouses  in a class project that would meet specific needs for a business located in a newly constructed industrial park. Students constructed scale models of their warehouses in a variety of ways including in the popular Minecraft game. The project was finished with a presentation to their classmates, the Spring Valley administration, and the program instructor Nick Damron.

Several student groups designed their warehouses using Minecraft.

During the project, students had to demonstrate their proficiency with the technical layout and equipment commonly utilized in warehouses. The models students created were to scale and proportionally correct. Students also had to apply advanced geometric methods to determine maximum storage capacity of the warehouse.

The Global Logistics program is an Advanced Career class that uses rigorous curriculum that prepares students for both careers and college upon completion. The warehouse project requirements were designed by industry and educational experts.
