Important PROMISE Scholarship Information in Regards to SAT and ACT Scores

SAT Scores

The SAT organization has notified the WV Higher Education Policy Commission’s PROMISE Scholarship Program that they will not be receiving any 2019 SAT score until at least August 2019. If a student qualified for PROMISE on a 2019 SAT testing, they can wait until we receive official scores or they can pay the $12 fee to have them sent to our office so they can be awarded sooner. Their SAT code is 3456.

ACT Scores

If a student qualified on the April ACT. Those scores have not been received at this point. Any student who qualified on the April ACT will likely not be on the list for the PROMISE award assemblies in May, until official scores are received. It usually takes 8 weeks to receive the official scores.

Updating the Application

Students should utilize the Self-reporting tool on their WVSAM account if they qualify on a testing March 2019 or later on the ACT or SAT so that their official scores can be matches to their PROMISE application, once official scores are received. Official scores must be received before a student can be awarded.
