Waycose Federal Credit Union Scholarship – Parent must be a current member of the Waycose FCU in good standing. Must be a high school senior planning to attend a 4 year college. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 with an ACT composite score of 18 or an SAT of 900. Deadline April 16, 2021.
Joshua Sean Hayton Memorial Scholarship Application – Must be a high school senior at SVHS, must be a soccer player, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and must use the reward money toward a college or a vocational degree. Award amount is $500. Deadline April 15, 2021.
J. Garrett-Hoback-Scholarship – One boy and one girl, must be seniors at SVHS, have a 3.0 GPA and use the award money toward a college or vocational degree. Monetary award will be issues upon proof of enrollment in college or vocational-technical school. Award amount is $400. Deadline April 15, 2021.
The-Bill-Stewart-Journalism-Scholarship – In memory of ABC newscaster Bill Stewart (a Wayne County graduate). The recipient of this scholarship must be majoring in print or broadcast journalism. Award amount is $250. Deadline is April 15, 2021.
Roxanna-Booth-Scholarship-Application – The applicant and his/her family must be residents of Wayne County and/or currently reside in the Spring Valley High School District. Graduating seniors must have attended Spring Valley High School. All Scholarships will be awarded at the complete discretion of the First Presbyterian Church of Kenova’s Scholarship Committee, to students on the basis of financial need, merit and personal ambition to pursue a career in nursing or a related medical technician field of study. Deadline April 1, 2021.

2021 Dick Griffith Scholarship Application – The Dick Griffith Scholarship Fund was established to provide scholarships to seniors from Cabell County and Wayne County, West Virginia; Lawrence County, Ohio; and Boyd County, Kentucky. The scholarship is awarded to an individual who best exemplifies Mr. Griffith’s dedication to tennis as a lifelong endeavor. While the scholarship is not limited to competitive tennis players, non-tennis players must have a connection to the tennis community at large. Selection criteria include, but are not limited to, sportsmanship, moral character, citizenship and satisfactory academic standing. Financial need may be considered. Candidates must also plan to attend an accredited two-to four-year college, university, community college or technical school. Deadline March 8, 2021.
2021 Matthews Family Scholarship Application – This scholarship provides assistance to students graduating from public and private schools in Boyd and Greenup counties in Kentucky; Cabell and Wayne counties in West Virginia; and Lawrence County, Ohio. This scholarship is payable over two years, provided that the student maintains at least a 2.5 GPA in the first year of college/technical school. Each scholarship recipient shall be chosen on the basis of (1) application and subsequent acceptance and enrollment into a nursing program at a college or technical school; (2) demonstrated financial need; (3) solid academic performance; (4) involvement in school and volunteer activities. Kevin McClain Scholarship Flyer (Marathon Petroleum Company-ACTC) – The Kevin McClain Diversity Scholarship is now available to high school seniors who have been accepted into and enroll in the Applied Process Technology Program (APT) at Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) in Kentucky. This renewable scholarship is an annual award of $3,000; allocated as $1,500 for the fall and spring semesters. Minority and female candidates encouraged to pursue the APT program. Westmoreland Woman’s Club Scholarship – $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. Must be in good academic standing, in need of financial assistance to continue your education. The scholarship is available to all students, women and men. Deadline April 1. 2021.
Alpha Delta Kappa XI Scholarship – Alpha Delta Kappa Women’s Educator Sorority XI Chapter Scholarship, $500. Student must attend a WV college or university with plans to become an educator. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, please attach documentation. Applicant will compose a 1 page essay “Why Education is My Career Choice” Please return applications to Ms. Stroud, SVHS school counselor by email or Schoology or drop off in the office. Please note this is a Local Scholarship application and is separate from the Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship posted on the Scholarship List page. Deadline April 15, 2021.
