Spring Valley High School

The SVHS Freshman Academy will help incoming ninth graders more easily adapt to the higher academic standards and unaccustomed social changes accompanying entrance into the high school setting.

Goal

The SVHS Freshman Academy will foster an environment that promotes the academic, social, emotional and physical growth of each student.

Plan

To meet this goal the SVHS Freshman Academy will place students in one of two smaller learning communities – either Team Wolves or Team Valley.

Teacher, counselors, administrators and other supporting staff share a vision to create a supportive and nurturing environment where freshman students will thrive.

Results

Freshman Academy teachers have created a rigorous and relevant curriculum that teaches students the academic, social, and life skills they will need not only to complete the rest of high school but will also utilize throughout their entire adult lives.
