Timberwolves Career Launch - Spring Valley's hub for Internships and Work-Based Learning Experiences
Career Launch Advisor: Austin Pratt (ahpratt@k12.wv.us)
The purpose of the Timberwolf Career Launch is to place students into paid internship positions with local businesses so that students can gain valuable work experience, apply skills that they learn in the classroom in the real world, and gain knowledge of employment opportunities within the surrounding community.
To apply for the program, students must be either a junior or a senior with a GPA of 2.50 or higher and have no more than three unexcused absences during the academic year. These students select internships that they are interested in based on job descriptions provided by our internship partners. These employers will have the opportunity to interview interested students. This will give students valuable interview experience and ensure that the intern is a good fit for the position.
Students are required to work at least 75 hours during the semester. We will work with the students to ensure academic schedules and work schedules are compatible. Student interns will meet periodically as a group at school for internship workshops where they will learn about soft skills in the workplace and share internship experiences
