For the 2025–2026 School Year

At Spring Valley High School, participation in athletics, performing arts, and other co-curricular and extracurricular activities is a privilege — not a right. To support student growth and accountability, all students involved in these programs will follow a Student-Parent Contract outlining clear expectations and fair consequences.

🔹 Key Expectations:

  • Follow all school rules (in and out of school, including on social media)

  • Maintain good sportsmanship, integrity, and respectful behavior

  • Avoid illegal or inappropriate behaviors (e.g., drugs/alcohol, bullying, cheating)

  • Keep up academic eligibility and attendance requirements

🔹 Consequences for Misconduct:

  • Minor Violations (tardiness, dress code, language):
Warnings → Practice/Game suspensions → Possible team removal

  • Major Violations (fighting, drug use, harassment, serious dishonesty):
Suspension from activities → Season suspension → Year-long removal for repeat offenses

  • Academic or Eligibility Issues:
Students may be placed on probation until grades improve.

  • Parking/Driver Compliance:
Students must complete all paperwork and submit fees before participating.

🔹 Review Process:

All incidents are reviewed by coaches, directors, and administration. Students and parents may request a meeting to discuss disciplinary actions.

This contract is not about punishment — it’s about helping students learn accountability, maturity, and the value of representing something bigger than themselves. It gives students structure, second chances when appropriate, and a clear roadmap for success.

The full contract must be signed by both the student and a parent/guardian and will remain in effect for the 2025–2026 school year. Find the full contract below:
